CQ Capras

The CQ Capras are Central Queensland's premier rugby league club, based right here in Rockhampton. The men's and women's sides compete in the Queensland Cup (the Hostplus Cup), the state's second tier, and the club is a feeder for the Dolphins in the NRL. Home games at Browne Park draw a passionate local crowd, and the club has a proud history of producing players who go on to the big stage. I worked with the Capras to capture their game days through the lens.

Game Day Photography

Visual Rugby league is fast, physical, and full of moments that are gone in a second. My job was to be there for all of them. I shot game day photography that showed both the action on the field and the atmosphere around it.

Here's what that covered:

• Capturing the big moments during play, from line breaks and tries to the hits that get the crowd on their feet.

• Shooting clean, usable shots of every player so the club had a solid library to draw from across the season.

• Documenting the match day feel at Browne Park, including the fans, the build up, and the post game celebrations.

• Delivering edited, ready to use images quickly so the club could share them while the game was still fresh in everyone's mind.

The goal was simple. Give the Capras a steady stream of strong photos they could use across their website, socials, and match day content, all shot by someone who knows the game and knows what a good rugby league photo looks like.
